Various locations.
This annual event, the weekend before the actual Earth Day on April 22, educates Minneapolis residents about water quality issues and gives them an opportunity to pitch in and make a difference. Last year, over 2,000 residents removed more than 17,000 pounds of garbage at 25 cleanup sites around Minneapolis — one of the best cleanup events in the nation, as ranked by the Earth Day Network. Gloves, trash bags, refreshments and directions are provided. Volunteers are asked to check in at a check-in table before starting work.
