Cara Letofsky received the endorsement for city council at the Ward 2 DFL convention last month. Rival Dan Miller withdrew following the fourth ballot, in which Letofsky led Miller 166-132. Candidate Bill Svrluga withdrew after finishing third in the first two ballots. Green Party candidate Cam Gordon is campaigning for the Ward 2 seat.

Ward 2 includes all of Cedar-Riverside and Seward neighborhoods, as well as the part of Cooper neighborhood lying north of Lake Street. Those living north of Lake Street, south of the railroad tracks, and west of 38th Avenue are in Ward 9, where incumbent Gary Schiff captured the endorsement at the ward convention late last month.

The DFL will hold its city convention May 14 at Augsburg College. The 5th Congressional District Green Party convention will be held May 8 at Park House, 2120 Park Ave. S.

A DFL library board candidate forum will be held May 10, 7?8 p.m. at the CWA Hall, 35th Avenue and E. Lake Street.
