How did we vote?

Bridge-area presidential preference results by precinct

Super Tuesday has come and gone, and the results are in as to who we’d like to see run for president. Statewide, the Democrat and Republican caucuses chose U.S. Sen. Barack Obama and former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney, respectively.

Locally, Democrats in The Bridge’s coverage area overwhelmingly supported Obama over Hillary Clinton in every precinct, with a smattering of votes cast for John Edwards, Dennis Kucinich and Bill Richardson.

Republicans were far fewer in terms of turnout and more varied in their preference. They did stray from the statewide results, however, favoring Ron Paul, who won the majority of precincts in our coverage area despite placing fourth statewide with just 15 percent of the votes cast.

The following results are from presidential preference caucus results online at the Secretary of State’s website. While the votes are “non-binding,” they should give us a pretty clear idea of who we’d like to see in the White House.

Note: The neighborhood designations applied to ward precincts are ours and are in some cases approximate.
