Cedar-Riverside brings NRP plan to public vote – Monday, Nov. 5 at 6 p.m.
After three years of preparation, the Cedar-Riverside neighborhood has completed its first Neighborhood Revitalization Program (NRP) action plan, which will be up for a public vote on Monday, Nov. 5 at the Brian Coyle Community Center, 420 15th Ave. S., 6–7:30 p.m.
If approved by the neighborhood, the NRP organization and the city, the plan will allocate nearly $1.6 million for various strategies in the neighborhood.
The plan was developed by the West Bank Community Coalition (WBCC), which worked with Cedar-Riverside stakeholders through individual interviews, focus groups, work groups and community meetings. Feedback from public review of the plan in early October has been integrated into the plan.
Also, on Tuesday, Nov, 6, the WBCC will hold its regular Safety Committee meeting, 7-8 p.m. at the Brian Coyle Community Center
The agenda includes an update of neighborhood crime, discussion of the recruitment and training of walking patrols and seeking “active participation of business owners along Cedar Avenue in the improvement of the safety issues of the neighborhood.”
