Prospect Park national historic designation application postponed

PROSPECT PARK—The State Historic Preservation Office postponed the Prospect Park/East River Road Improvement Assocation’s (PPERRIA) application to seek national historic designation for much of the Prospect Park neighborhood, reported Livability Committee Chair Joe Ring at PERRIA’s October board meeting. The state office decided to allow more time to update the inventory of property records used in the application. Homeowners will receive a letter from the state preservation office in a month or two and will be asked to respond within 30 days. The state would proceed with the application in February and the Department of the Interior would consider it next summer.
