Tour the Frank Lloyd Wright house in Prospect Park — Sunday, Oct. 7

Those interested in our local historic architecture can tour the Malcolm Willey House, 255 SE Bedford Street, from noon–4 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 7. The open house is in honor of the National Trust for Historic Preservation Conference (going on Oct. 2–6) and the Minneapolis Institute of the Arts’ exhibit, “Frank Lloyd Wright for Everyman: The Malcolm Willey House and the Lindholm Service Station,” which runs through Jan. 20 at the MIA, 2400 Third Ave. S.

The Willey House was designed in 1934 by Frank Lloyd Wright for Malcolm and Nancy Willey, and it hss not been open to the public since a restoration was completed more than five years ago.

The open house is described in a press release as an informal walk-through, rather than a guided tour, but the owners and the restoration team will be on there to answer questions.

There is a $5 per person fee, which will be applied to the ongoing preservation of
the house.
