Starting today, Thursday, Sept. 13, you can buy stuff from your neighbors in Southeast Como, and, on Saturday, you can hang out with them at the annual Como Cookout.

Eighteen addresses in the neighborhood are participating in the four-day sale; for a list and map of addresses, visit www.secomo.org.

The Como Cookout takes place on Saturday, Sept. 15, 4–7 p.m., at Van Cleve Park, 901 15th Ave. SE. The yearly neighborhood gathering features free food, live entertainment, carnival games, representatives from the Raptor Center (both human and fowl, we presume), and get updates on the latest Como issues and developments, from the Bridal Veil remediation to the Tuttle re-use plan and the Bunge redevelopment project.
