Raise a ruckus

Twelve hours of music and more at the Nomad World Pub — Saturday, Sept. 8

It’s not quite Cedar Fest, but the second annual “Ruckus on the West Bank” harkens back to the glory days of outdoor music on Saturday, Sept. 8, starting at 1 p.m. at the Nomad World Pub, 501 Cedar Ave. S.

The indoor/outdoor festival features a lineup of mostly local bands and a couple fo national acts (Iowa, New York).

Music starts outdoors at 1 p.m. and continues until 10 p.m., when the fetsivities move inside to the bar and Nomad stage.

During the day, West Indies Soul Food (from the Midtown Exchange) will set up a food stand with jerk chicken, pasties, and rice and beans, and a beer-garden-style cart will feature four beers, including the recently tapped Schell’s Octoberfest. The bar will be open as usual, through out the day.

The event is free; food and beer are not.
