Vigils at places of worship

Two area churches have announced special prayer services, in the wake of Wednesday’s I-35W Bridge tragedy. Both notices were originally posted on the Prospect Park neighborhood listserv.

*First Congregational Church, 500 8th Ave. SE

“Because of the collapse of the Interstate 35W bridge across the Mississippi River near First Church on Wednesday evening and the resulting loss of life, the First Church sanctuary will be open for prayer and meditation from 9¬ a.m.–5 p.m. Thursday and Friday August 2–3. People can come and go as they please. There will also be a brief prayer service at noon on Thursday. All are welcome. Please pass the word. Please hold all affected by this tragic event in your prayers.” —First Congregational Church

Candlelight Vigil for Support and Recovery for those suffering and concerned with the I-35W Bridge Collapse’
