Picosa to open at end of May
Contrary to our reporting in the May issue, the restaurant Picosa will open at the end of May (not April) at 65 SE Main St., the space formerly occupied by Sophia’s.
Owners Lindell and Jennifer Mendoza will celebrate the opening on June 1st with a special menu promotions and live entertainment.
Picosa, which means “spicy one” in Spanish, will feature signature regional dishes from Mexico, Central and South America, with special spices and ingredients “to ensure… guests experience a dining sensation that is truly new to the Minneapolis palate,” according to a release. Picosa’s menu will also feature small plates and an eclectic list of wines from South America, New Zealand and California.
Chef Lindell Mendoza promises “outstanding food and hip service” for both dinner and lunch, which can be enjoyed at the restaurant or as take-out. Picosa will feature an outdoor patio, VIP seating, and a dance floor and music by professional DJs for a late-night clubbing atmosphere.
