Stretch of Como closed for the summer
Closure, detour should be familiar to neighborhood residents
Monday, May 21, 2007, Como Avenue Southeast closed to all traffic between 22nd and 24th avenues southeast while the BNSF Railroad completes work on a new railroad bridge over the street.
Once that work is complete, the City of Minneapolis will finish a repaving project on that stretch of Como Avenue Southeast.
The closure and related detour — from Como, on 22nd Avenue Southeast to East Hennepin Avenue and then back to Como at 29 Avenue Southeast — will be similar to last year’s closure.
The work is expected to be completed, and the road reopened, in early fall 2007.
